MITEC Automotive AG is one of the leading companies in auto propulsion technology worldwide. The main focus is the reduction of noise emissions from the power train. Two major fields of action are part of this effort, first the development and production of balancer systems and second the development and production of components and gear boxes for 4-wheel drive technology.

Balancer systems are part of the so-called active devices used to prevent noise and vibrations caused by the vehicle engine. In connection with this, the physical inertia torque and forces caused by the combustion engine are eliminated by same sized opposite forces and torque. The result is that vibrations and noise arousal are not transferred to the chassis of the vehicle from the very beginning on. This effect is achieved by using a gear acuated device, rotating with twice the crankshaft speed, which sets the highest precision requirements in their manufacture and accuracy of the gear. It is impossible to imagine the development of the modern engine without the balancer system. They are a standard module of the engine which will be integrated with other modules in the future. This applies for inline 4 & 5 Cylinder and V6 Engines and is independent from the type of combustion. Both gasoline and diesel engines are affected.

Likewise, the highest demands are required for the production of components for 4-wheel drive technology. This is primarily for the manufacture of gear sets, the heart of the front-wheel and rear-wheel gear drives of the 4-wheel drive technology. These gears are manufactured with the GLEASON system and the final grinding process of the bevel gears leads to a significant reduction of the noise emissions of the front- and rear axle gears.

Nearly every well-known automobile manufacturer is a customer, such as Ford Motor Company, General Motors, BMW, DaimlerChyrsler, Volkswagen, Mazda, Skoda, Cosoworth, Audi AG, etc. In the 4-wheel drive market, MITEC Automotive AG has the second largest manufacturing capacity of all automotive suppliers for ground gear sets in Europe.

Here we like to reference our Quality-Data-Management-System. This is a pilot project, i.e. it’s used the first time and exists since 2002. It picks up, analyses and archives all machine-, instrument- and quality data as well as operating signals and notices of malfunction. It permits traceability of each single part and provides monitoring of machine conditions.
